During the Chinese New Year week, we enjoyed listening to the Chinese song Gong Xi Gong Xi, we watched the story of Nian the Monster that tells us the origin of some Chinese custom of lighting fireworks and wearing red clothes. We also watched youtube clips of dragon dance and danced along to the lion dance. It was fun trying to imitate the sounds of the dragon dance using our musical instruments.
