We are learning about minibeasts. We had the opportunity to see, touch, feel and hear real live minibeasts such as the giant millipede, hissing cockroaches, scorpions and hermit crab among others. We also had the chance to see a live snake and a bearded dragon and saw that they had bones.
Science Day in the Nursery
We were learning about magnets. We explored the things that magnets attract around the Nursery. We also found out that magnets repel and can attract things even between thin cards or plastic.
We are learning about the life cycle of the chicken. The Early Years Foundation Stage children witnessed the chicks hatched from the eggs. The children had the opportunity to feed them and look after them by changing the bedding every day.
We are learning about winter. We explore the blocks of ice. They are freezing cold! We learnt that outdoors could also get frosty. We went outside the Nursery playground and found out that it was slippery because of the frost. We represented this idea using the shaving foam. Sometimes, it snows at winter time. We also wear jacket / coat, hat, scarf and gloves or put our hands inside our pockets to keep us warm.
