RE and Worship

CCB's School Values

The theme for our 2020 RE day was the 'four Rs' from our vision and values statement: respect, resilience, responsibility and reconciliation.

Each key stage looked at one of these themes in more detail.

The EYFS learned about respect, Key Stage 1 explored resilience, Lower Key Stage 2 looked at responsibility while Upper Key Stage 2 unpacked the meaning of reconciliation.

Each class spent the day exploring their theme through different activities, including art, prayer writing, role-play and written reflections.

A class service was held at the end of the day to celebrate the learning.

This year the theme of our RE day was Community.

As well as carrying out lots of activities on this theme, each class held a class service, an act of collective worship.

During the service, the children sang songs, read prayers that they had written earlier in the day, looked at Bible stories and passages relating to the community theme and reflected on the experience of praying or being still.
