EYFS Statutory Educational Programme:
Developing a strong grounding in number is essential so that all children develop the necessary building blocks to excel mathematically. Children should be able to count confidently, develop a deep understanding of the numbers 1 to 10, the relationships between them and the patterns within those numbers.
Term 4: We are learning how to move the hands on an analogue clock to make it say a given o'clock time!
Term 4: We are learning to recognise and name different coins, such as pennies and pounds. We're finding out how much they're worth and how to use them to buy toys!
Term 3: We are writing number sentences to match our counters! We are using language such as 'add' and 'equals'.
Term 3: We are learning to recognise line symmetry in pictures and images.
Term 2: We are exploring length and height, using the language associated with comparing and measuring, such as long, short, high, low, tallest, and shortest.
Term 1: We are learning to use positional language, such as, below, beside, in front, under, next to, and between.
