Science

Term 4

We have been learning about why our environment is important; how we can look after our planet better; how we can reduce, reuse and recycle and how we can sort our ‘rubbish’ for recycling, at school and at home.

Term 3

In science we went on a learning walk in our local area to see how different materials are being used in our environment.

In science we are thinking about the basic needs of animals.

We will be making simple food chains and learning about producers, consumers, predators and prey.

We reminded ourselves about what animals eat by sorting them into sets using a Venn diagram: herbivores, carnivores and omnivores.

We have been finding out about different world habitats.

In pairs we researched one of four habitats and created a scene of this, which we then presented to our classmates, sharing some of the interesting things we learned.

In science this term our topic is Living Things and their Habitats.

We learned about the life processes carried out by living things and then went out into the playground to explore things that were living, dead or that had never been alive.

We found lots of examples of things from these three groups.
