Term 3

We have been reading Lima's Red Hot Chilli in English.

We made milkshakes to help us prepare for writing a set of instructions for Lima. 

We thought carefully about all the steps and used commands with imperative (bossy) verbs when saying the instructions. 

We also enjoyed drinking our milkshakes!

Term 2

This term for our whole school write we are retelling the Nativity story.

This term we are focusing on writing retells of familiar stories. Today we read our retells to a partner. 

We presented out talked homework to the class. The topic was 'where in the world?'. We practices using a loud talking voice and speaking clearly. We asked questions after each presentation. 

Term 1

Today in English we celebrated finishing our procedural writing unit by making real jam sandwiches. First we wrote instructions for making a jam sandwich. We read the instructions to Miss Bills and she followed each step. We had a picnic in the afternoon and enjoyed the sandwiches together. 

Today in English we continued with procedural writing. First we made different paper ice cream sundaes. Then we wrote step by step instructions on how to create our design. To finish, we practiced reading our instructions and seeing if our peers could make the same design as us. 

We practised writing questions using question marks and tried to answer in full sentences. -25.09

We hotseated the main character, the robot, to help us understand his feelings and actions at different parts of the story.
