Physical Development & PE

EYFS Statutory Educational Programme:

Physical activity is vital in children’s all-round development, enabling them to pursue happy, healthy and active lives. Gross and fine motor experiences develop incrementally throughout early childhood, starting with sensory explorations and the development of a child’s strength, co-ordination and positional awareness through tummy time, crawling and play movement with both objects and adults.

2025-2026

We are learning to make bridges and tunnels with our bodies.

2024-2025

Gingerbread men on the run! We are learning to be aware of space while running.

We are learning how to play cricket!

Blast off to Mars in our rocket ship! We were surprised by aliens and learned different ways to move and balance.

We focused on the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' and used our imagination to create different movements. We hopped and skipped through the long, wavy grass and swam through the river, using cones as our armbands!

We are learning to explore balance in the Land of the Giants, inspired by our focus story, Jack and the Beanstalk!

This is us at lunch, eating a healthy meal using cutlery!

A Walk Through the Forest: We are learning to explore different ways of moving.
