Term 2
This term our topic for PSHE is Valuing Difference
This week we discussed listening and how this is important. Sometimes we hear what people say but don't really listen to the to them, so we don't really understand. We discussed that problems can arise if people don't listen; it can lead to fallouts with friends. In small groups we role played 6 different scenarios where good listening and negotiation skills were needed to solve a problem.
.
We talked about examples of kindness and unkindness. Then we listened to a story called An Act of Kindness. We discussed different kind things we can say to someone, as well as kind tings we can do.
This week we learned that the way we react to something can make a situation better or worse. It’s possible to react in a calm way when someone is being a bit aggressive. Sometimes it can help there to be a good outcome for everyone. In groups, we rehearsed and performed a role play about this.
