PSHE

WALT: Understand how bystanders can influence bullying situations and learn how to work together to support others by being active bystanders and making safe, positive choices.

Keeping Ourselves Safe In our PSHE lesson, we focused on the topic of Keeping Ourselves Safe, where students explored how to identify and manage risks and who to ask for help in different situations. We began by discussing what it feels like to be safe or unsafe. Students shared their experiences of places where they feel safe and situations where they may feel at risk. They also identified how their bodies react when they feel unsafe, such as feeling nervous or having a fast heartbeat. Next, students were given scenarios depicting different situations where a person might be unsafe. In groups, they discussed and answered key questions: Who could this person ask for help? What would be the best way for the person to deal with this situation? After their discussions, each group presented their scenario and responses to the class. This allowed them to share their ideas and reinforce their understanding of managing risks and seeking help when needed.

Year 4 have learnt about potential consequences of aggressive behavior, and suggested strategies for dealing with someone who is behaving aggressively. They made freeze frames showing an aggressive behavior and then wrote how they could have handled the situation differently.

Term 1 - Me and My Relationships: This term, Year 4 have been learning all about building and maintaining positive relationships with the people around them and themselves, the importance of teamwork as well as how to respond to peer pressure and be assertive.
