We learned about the life processes carried out by living things and then went out into the playground to explore things that were living, dead or that had never been alive.
We found lots of examples of things from these three groups.
Term 4

We learned about climate change and carried out an investigation to help us understand greenhouse gases.
We also learned about the importance of saving energy.
We collected data to help us find out how much energy we waste here in school.
We carried out a survey around the school to see if lights and screens are being left on and fed back our findings to persuade people to save energy.
Term 3
This term our topic has been Uses of Everyday Materials.
As part of this unit, we investigated how the shape of objects made from some materials can be changed.
In pairs we tried squashing, bending, twisting and stretching
different objects to see if their shape could be changed.
Term 2
In science this term our topic is Animals, Including Humans
We carried out different exercises and thought about which parts of our bodies had to work hard to do each one. We discussed how each exercise made us feel and learned about the importance of leading an active lifestyle.
This week we identified healthy food and created a healthy day of eating plan.

We celebrated the end of our Term 1 science unit by visiting the Lookout Discovery Center at Hyde Park. We really enjoyed this excursion and consolidated our knowledge about the needs of living things, habitats and food chains.
This we in science we used Venn diagrams to catergorise animals into carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.
