Nursery class watched videos about preparing for Christmas and celebrating Christmas and took part in a class discussion using Christmas items such as a stocking, Christmas card and crackers. The children reflected , with support, on why the Nativity was so important to Christians. They thought about giving a present to baby Jesus and giving presents to people special to us. During freeflow, Nursery class decorated the Christmas tree, dressed up in Christmas costumes, and coloured and painted Christmas pictures. On the Christmas party day, Nursery wore their Christmas jumpers to school, danced at the disco and enjoyed eating their party food. ‘Father Christmas’ visited the classroom and all of the children received a present from the school to take home. Finally the children made a snowman Christmas card to take home for their parents.
