In computing this term we have been using JIT to create animations linked to our science topic about plants.
First we created a background that would be suitable for an animation of a seed growing into a plant.
Then we created our animations on top of these backgrounds. We had to think about how to show the growth of the plant gradually, using the ‘onion skin’ in each frame to help us do this.
We also had to remember to redo everything we had drawn so far in each frame!
In computing we have been programming an on-screen sprite using JIT Turtle.
We have been learning about what algorithms are and how to debug a set of instructions.
We completed different tasks and wrote our own programs, including in 'advanced mode', where we needed to imagine the route the sprite would take before setting it off on its journey.
This term in computing we are using branching data files to sort things.
We chose some animals and thought of yes or no questions we could ask to sort them.
