Diwali

Nursery class watched CBeebies videoclips of a family preparing for Diwali and celebrating Diwali. The children made playdough Diva lamps and decorated them with sequins. They coloured in Mehndi hands, danced to Indian music and made Rangoli patterns using lentils and pasta. Mrs Dodia came in to talk to Nursery and Reception about how Hindus celebrate Diwali. She showed them a sari, a bindi and praying, and the children tasted Indian sweets. Nursery class also enjoyed acting out the story of Rama and Sita using face masks.
