We listened to some poets perform poems they had written and discussed which we liked and why.
We then focused on the Caribbean poet Grace Nichols and listened to some of her poems.
Finally we worked in pairs or by ourselves to learn, practise and perform her poem ‘Sugarcake Bubble’.
We have been reading Lima's Red Hot Chilli in English.
We made milkshakes to help us prepare for writing a set of instructions for Lima.
We thought carefully about all the steps and used commands with imperative (bossy) verbs when saying the instructions.
We also enjoyed drinking our milkshakes!
In English we read the story The Storm Whale by Benji Davies.
We hotseated the main character, Noi, to help us understand his feelings and actions at different parts of the story.
We practised writing questions using question marks and tried to answer in full sentences.
