RE

This term we are asking,

What does it mean to be a Hindu?

For our first lesson in this topic, we asked Mrs Dodia and Sairah questions about their families and any other questions we had about being a Hindu and what it means to them.

We the reflected on how our own families are important to us.

This term we are learning about the parables that Jesus told.

We listened to parables such as the Parable of the Lost Sheep and the Parable of the Sower

We acted out the Parable of the Lost Sheep and discussed how the good shepherd showed love to his lost sheep by going out and finding it.  We then reflected on how we can show God's love to others.

After listening to the Parable of the Sower we worked in groups to create collages to show the different parts of the story.

This term in RE we are asking...

'Why is Each Person Important in the Nativity Story?'

We have been using drama activities, like roleplay and hot-seating, to help us understand this very special story and the important roles played be each person.

We acted out the story of the annunciation, when Gabriel gave the good news to Mary.

We thought of questions to ask Mary and Joseph to find out if they had the qualities needed to be the parents of Jesus.

In RE this term we are asking...'Why are they having a party?'

We are learning about different Jewish festivals that are celebrated each year.  Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish new year.

We learned about some of the special things that are used during this time and their meanings.

Apple dipped in honey is eaten to wish for a sweet year ahead full of good things.

We enjoyed trying this ourselves!
