How do the Five Pillars of Islam Help Muslims show commitment to God (Allah)?
We learned that Zakat, the third Pillar of Islam, is about giving to charity and that Muslims give away 2.5% of their wealth each year.
We thought about acts of charity we could perform and spent some time reading with children in the Nursery class, helping them to enjoy stories, treat books with respect and hold them up the right way.

We are finding out about different Jewish celebrations, including Rosh Hashanah and Hanukkah.
We learned about the festival of Sukkot.
We found out that at this festival, Jews remember when God kept their ancestors safe when they were in the desert by making sure they had enough food and water.
We learned that at this celebration, Jewish people build a sukkah, where they eat their meals for seven days and spend time with family and friends.
We worked in pairs to build and decorate mini sukkahs.
We made sure to leave gaps in the roof and build three walls.
