School finishes today for the half term holiday. May I wish all our families a restful and safe half term break. Children must return to school on Monday 29th October 2018 at 8.45 am.
Any parents who are booking holidays for Christmas, please remember that the last day of school is Friday 21st December and the children return on Tuesday 8th January 2019.
Please keep to these dates when booking your holidays as permission will not be given for holidays during term time.
We will be holding a non-uniform day on the last day of term, to help the survivors of the Indonesian earthquake and tsunami. In September, an earthquake rocked the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, triggering a terrifying tsunami that left a trail of destruction in its wake.
Tens of thousands of homes have been destroyed and at least 2,000 people have died. Hundreds of thousands of survivors are now in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, many of whom are children. Our children may wear their own clothes next Friday and make a donation and support this very important appeal.
School finishes at 1.30pm on Friday 19th October 2018 for the half-term holiday.
Children return to school on Monday 29th October at 8.45am.
School Harvest Service
Our school harvest service will take place on Thursday 11th October and our parents are welcome to join us at 9.30am. Each class will be given a letter requesting specific items to bring to school on the 9th and 10th October.
In celebration of Black History Month, Don Rae will be working with Years 4, 5 and 6 on dance performances that celebrate diversity. Parents are welcome to come and watch the performances at 2.45pm on Wedneday 10th October 2018.
The school photographer was in school yesterday taking individual class photographs. All the children have been given an order form with a unique number. To view your images, please go on-line and enter your unique code at www.activephotographic.co.uk.
Black History Month
In celebration of Black History Month, Don Rae will be working with Years 1, 2 and 3 on dance performances that celebrate diversity.
Parents with pupils in Years 1, 2 and 3 are welcome to view the dances at 2.30pm on Wednesday 3rd October.
Secondary Transfer for Year 6 pupils
There will be an e-admissions session in school on Thursday 4th October from 2.30-3pm in the ICT suite. This will help parents to select their secondary school preferences online.
Please come along if you need help with your application as Douglas Shaw (WCC Admissions manager) will be on hand to help.
Nursery parents who are applying for a Reception place for September 2019 are also welcome to come to this session.
