New school kitchen
Thank you for your patience during the period in which the children have been eating packed lunches. I am pleased to inform you that our new kitchen will be opening soon. There will be a school meals taster session for parents in the main hall on Thursday 23rd February at 2.45pm. The kitchen will be fully functional from Monday 27th February 2017.
From Monday 16th January the children will use the new entrance to the school. This is now located at the far end of Cosway Street near Hunstanton House. Members of staff will be positioned on the road to direct our families safely to the correct entrance.
Our school will undergo an RE or SIAMs Inspection (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) on Wednesday 23rd November 2016. We feel very positive about the outcome of this inspection as we are a fully inclusive school and proud of our all encompassing Christian ethos. We live our vision and values on a daily basis. This is captured in our mission statement:
We are all unique in the eyes of God and together we enjoy, aspire and achieve.
There are vacancies for two parent governors and letters will go out today. If you are interested in this very important position in the school, please make sure you apply.
This year we are taking part in the Shoe Box appeal with St Paul’s Church and are asking pupils from Year N – Year 3 to make Christmas shoe boxes for boys and girls. We would like the pupils in Year 4-6 to make Christmas toiletry boxes for adults (men and women) which can include such items as soap, toothpaste and shampoo.
The boxes could also contain Christmas treats like chocolates and sweets. Please do not seal the boxes because we can then add other items to them. The lids of the boxes can be decorated or covered in colourful Christmas paper. An example of one of last year’s boxes is located in the Reception area for you to see.
The boxes will be distributed locally this year to the homeless and needy members of our community.
No Uniform day
To celebrate our diverse community the children can wear cultural clothes/colours from their family background on
