  • Headlice

    Mon 28 Jan 2019

We have been notified of some cases of head lice in the school. Please do not be alarmed by this – head lice love children, however clean their hair. If you think your child has head lice, please check your child’s hair.

The school nurse advises “once a week you take a peek”. This means that you should check your child’s hair, while it is wet, at least once a week.

It is important that you check the whole family if your child has head lice.

  • On-line Safety

    Fri 18 Jan 2019

We have become aware in school, that a number of children are playing internet games involving chat rooms. The use of inappropriate language/comments, and negative behaviour on the on-line chat forums between players, have caused upset and distress to some of our pupils. We are very concerned about this and have a duty of care to safeguard all pupils, particularly when we receive parental complaints about students, with a possibility of police involvement.

we can only encourage parents to observe the age limits on chat rooms, we would ask you to be particularly vigilant about the type of conversations and the language used whilst children are playing. Also ensuring that children are not setting up fake accounts.

We trust you will support us in this matter and have relevant conversations with your children.
