Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Despite my reminder in last week’s newsletter, a couple of children were wearing the incorrect uniform or shoes to school.
Please support the school by ensuring that your child wears the correct uniform and that their shoes are plain black, with NO coloured emblems or piping.
Any child who continually wears the incorrect uniform, will miss their playtime.
Summer term uniform
The children may now wear their summer uniform.
Girls: Blue and white striped or check dress, navy blue cardigan or sweatshirts, black shoes. Please ensure that shoes are totally black.
Boys: Grey short trousers, white polo shirt and navy blue jumper or sweatshirt, black shoes.
For modesty the girls may wish to wear cycling shorts (not leggings) underneath their summer dresses. These MUST NOT show beneath the hem of the dress.
The new system for ordering school uniform is now up and running. We are using the same company, Stitch Design. You may order your items of uniform on line at www.stitchdesign.co.uk. You will be asked to create an account. If you require any help doing this, please speak to Mrs Riley.
Bank Holiday
School will be closed on Monday 7th May 2018 for the early Spring Bank Holiday. All children must be back in school on Tuesday 8th May.
Reception September 2018
Parents will have been notified of the outcome of their application for a Reception class place for September. The deadline for accepting/refusing the place is 2nd May 2018. If you have any queries regarding admissions, or know anyone who does not receive any offer for their child, please see Mrs Palmer.
An open morning will be held on Thursday 26th April from 10-11am when new parents are welcome to visit and find out more about the school.
Year 6 SATs
SATs week will take place 14th – 17th May. Please make sure your child is in school every day and try to book any medical appointments before or after this date. Following SATs, Year 6 will be visiting Chessington World of adventures on Wednesday 23rd May.
Welcome back to the new school term.
I hope you all had a restful Easter holiday. It’s hard to believe that we are already starting the summer term. This is the term when we carry out our end of year assessments; there are just three weeks until Year 6’s KS2 SATs and other year groups (including KS1 SATs in Year 2 and KS1 Phonics in Year 1) will be held in June.
Further details will be sent out to each year group individually, but please remember that it is vitally important your child arrives in school promptly each day so that they do not miss any of the teaching in this final term.
Thank you to all our parents who continue to support the school.
Parents’ evenings will take place next week beginning Monday 23rd April when you will be invited to meet your child’s teacher to discuss their progress in school. Please keep to your appointment times and let the class teacher know if you are unable to attend. It is important to meet your child’s teacher to discuss his/her progress.
International Evening 2018
It was lovely to see staff, pupils, parents, governors and special guests at the International Evening celebration on Friday 23rd March. This was an extremely successful event and we raised approximately £1000. This will be put into the
playground development fund so that we can begin Phase 2 of the playground works during the summer vacation.
All children were given a letter to take home this week which contains their username and password to access a wide range of learning resources on the school’s website. Please have a go at accessing the learning activities by clicking on the myUSO tab followed by the GREEN Easy login tab on the website. Enter your child’s username and password from the individualised letter that each child received this week. There are mathematics, spelling, grammar and reading games. There are also audio stories and a range of history, geography, Spanish, science and topic resources. HAVE LOTS OF FUN LEARNING DURING THE EASTER BREAK!
