Thank you to those parents who have purchased a book for the Reading Garden, to celebrate their child’s birthday. To obtain our Gold Healthy Schools status award, we need to promote healthy lifestyles. Please can you continue to help us to achieve this by not sending in cakes or “goodie bags” to celebrate birthdays.
We are encouraging families to purchase a book for the Reading Garden or some healthy fruit instead.
As you will all be aware, Prince Harry will marry Meghan Markle on Saturday 19th May at St George’s Chapel, Windsor. In celebration of this event, we will have a Non uniform day on Friday 18th May.
The children can dress up in royal clothing and bring a treat to share with their class at the end of the day. Depending on the weather, this may take place in the playground.
A visit to Greenhouse Sports Centre has been organised for all parents on Thursday 10th May at 9.15am. This will be a fantastic opportunity to look at the range of facilities/activities on offer to families in the local area.
If you are interested, please meet at the C.C.B reception entrance in Cosway Street.
If your younger child has been offered a place in our Reception class for September, your acceptance form should have been returned by now. If you have any family or friends who have not been offered a school for September, please ask them to contact us.
SATs week will take place 14th – 17th May. Please make sure your child is in school every day and try to book any medical appointments before or after this date. Following SATs, Year 6 will be visiting Chessington World of adventures on Wednesday 23rd May.
Summer term After School Clubs begin on Monday 30th April 2018. Please make a note at home which clubs your child will be attending on which days, to avoid having to call the school to check.
Please also make sure that your child/children are collected on time when the clubs finish at 4.15pm.
Please continue to support your child with homework, as the testing period will be coming up over the next few weeks. The Spelling Bee is continuing and will take place at the end of the summer term, so please ensure your child is working hard to learn their spellings.
